Lemon Butterflyfish
Lemon Butterflyfish (Chaetodon miliaris)
The Lemon Butterflyfish, also known as the Milletseed Butterflyfish or Millet Butterflyfish, is predominantly yellow with numerous dark spots on its sides that form vertical stripes. It features a black bar through its eyes and has yellow fins.
Ideal for beginners, the Lemon Butterflyfish needs ample swimming space in a 70-gallon or larger aquarium with a peaceful community. It can be kept singly or in pairs if introduced simultaneously. However, this Butterflyfish species is not suitable for reef aquariums.
Its diet should include finely chopped marine fish, crustacean meat, and mysis shrimp. Adding a vitamin formula to the meats will help maintain its vibrant yellow coloring.
