Blackbar Chromis
Blackbar Chromis (Chromis retrofasciata)
The Black Bar Chromis is native to the reefs of the Western Pacific, where it typically resides among branching coral heads. These fish display a tan to yellow coloration, highlighted by a distinctive vertical black bar near the base of the tail.
To keep Black Bar Chromis, it is recommended to provide a 30-gallon or larger aquarium with plenty of live rock for hiding spots. They thrive best in groups of six or more and are generally peaceful, though they can become more aggressive if kept alone.
As omnivores, Black Bar Chromis should be fed a diet that includes both meaty and vegetable-based foods. Offer them frozen mysis shrimp, vitamin-enriched brine shrimp, and high-quality flake food to meet their nutritional needs.
