The Black Cap Jawfish features a green head and body with subtle orange stripes, a black spot on its dorsal fin, and a distinctive black cap on its head. For its care, it requires a 30-gallon or larger aquarium with a secure lid to prevent escape, and a substrate of at least 3 inches for burrowing. It may pose a threat to small shrimp.This species is hardy and can breed successfully in captivity. Its diet should include a variety of marine fish, crustacean flesh, and mysis shrimp, with feeding recommended at least three times a day.
