Anchor Tusk Wrasse
Anchor Tusk Wrasse (Choerodon anchorago)
The Orange Spotted Tuskfish, also known as the Orange Dotted Tuskfish, is a striking wrasse native to the Indian Ocean. This species features a robust body with a black back, a white underbelly, and vibrant yellow fins adorned with characteristic orange spots. They thrive best in environments with plenty of live rock, a sandy substrate, and a secure lid to prevent escapes. The Orange Spotted Tuskfish is found in the tropical Indo-Pacific region, favoring coral reefs and rocky areas that offer ample hiding spots. Their natural range extends from the Red Sea and East Africa to the central Pacific Ocean and up to Japan. This species is not considered reef-safe, as it preys on small crustaceans and invertebrates. It is best suited for fish-only or predator-specific aquariums.
