Red & Blue Fairy Wrasse
Red & Blue Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus solorensis)
The Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse, also known as the Tricolor Fairy Wrasse, Redheaded Fairy Wrasse, or Red-eyed Fairy Wrasse, is sometimes regarded by aquarists as a color variant of the Blueside Wrasse. This stunning fish features a blue body accented by vibrant red along the dorsal edge and a bright yellow-orange face. Its colors can shift to various shades of blue and purple depending on its mood, with males displaying intensified hues during courtship.
To thrive, the Red Head Solon Fairy Wrasse requires a tank of at least 90 gallons, whether it’s a fish-only setup or a reef aquarium. It benefits from shaded areas away from direct light and is harmless to corals and invertebrates, making it a perfect addition to reef tanks. Keep in mind that these wrasses are jumpers, so a securely fitting canopy is essential.
For their diet, they should be fed a mix of vitamin-enriched frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and other meaty foods, along with high-quality marine flake and pellet food.
