Fancy White Ocellaris Clownfish
Fancy White Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris )
The Fancy White Clown is a hybrid of the A. ocellaris and the “Wyoming White” (a nearly all-white A. ocellaris). These fish feature the typical vibrant orange and white coloration of the Ocellaris Clownfish, but with additional white patterning on the stripes, which varies from fish to fish.
The Ocellaris Clownfish is arguably the most recognizable marine fish in the aquarium industry. Thanks to advancements in aquaculture, clownfish are now relatively easy to breed with minimal equipment, making them among the simplest marine fish to care for. Their bright orange color and engaging personality make them a popular choice for home aquariums. While generally hardy, Ocellaris Clownfish can be kept in groups; however, one fish will often assert dominance and bully the others.
For diet, clownfish thrive on a varied menu that includes meaty foods like frozen mysis shrimp, finely chopped raw shrimp, and commercial herbivore preparations, as well as flake and pellet foods. To maintain their vibrant colors, consider incorporating color-enhancing foods into their diet.
