Canary Blenny
Canary Blenny (Meiacanthus oualanensis)
The Canary Blenny, also known as the Oualan Forktail Blenny or Canary Fang Blenny, is aptly named for its vibrant yellow coloration. Males are typically larger than females and undergo a series of color changes during breeding. This blenny requires a minimum 30-gallon tank with live rock for hunting and grazing to thrive. It is best to keep only one per tank unless maintaining a breeding pair. If attacked, the Canary Blenny will retaliate by biting the inside of the attacker’s mouth. As a venomous species, it should be kept with caution, especially around children, as it may mistake fingers for attackers and deliver a painful bite.
